KLGI Executive Director Valmir Gashi took part in the First Regional Conference of the ReLOaD3 Programme, organised by UNDP and funded by the European Union, on 12–13 November 2025 in Skopje. The conference focused on strengthening local governance, transparency and the role of civil society in the Western Balkans.
In his presentation, Gashi outlined the experience of the KLGI Institute, focusing on two essential dimensions: the process of public funding in municipalities and public consultations at the local level. He shared data and key findings from KLGI’s multi-year monitoring, as well as the institute’s engagement in improving these processes.
The conference featured plenary sessions, dedicated panels and interactive working groups, focusing on: strengthening the capacities of local governance; the role of civil society in decision-making; transparency of public funding; successful regional practices; advancing participatory approaches; developing innovative local mechanisms; and discussing the priorities of European integration and reform agendas.
The conference brought together representatives of municipalities, civil society organisations, the European Commission and other partner institutions from across the region.
