The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) organised a workshop on the topic “Challenges in the process of NGO funding in municipalities”. Participants were chief financial officers from eight municipalities representative of the regions (Prizren, Peja, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Gjakova, Klina, Vushtrri, Malisheva).
The workshop aimed to discuss the challenges and shortcomings in the NGO funding process and to identify suitable models for regulating this process. The workshop also focused on shortcomings in the regulation of NGO funding at local level.
The workshop identified several challenges facing the NGO funding process at local level, starting with the planning of subsidies, where NGOs are being put in difficulty in carrying out their activities. Municipal representatives requested support in the process of planning public funding for NGOs.
This workshop is an initiative through which KLGI and its partners will continue to support municipalities in advancing and increasing transparency in the NGO funding process at local level.
This activity was carried out within the Civic Engagement Activity, implemented by KCSF in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Kosovo. KLGI is KCSF’s partner in carrying out this activity.
