The KLGI Institute, in support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, held a workshop with the Working Group for preparing the Funding Formula for the Specific Grant for Social Services. In this process, the expert analysed the working group's proposals, offering options and models based on funding practices in this field.
During the meeting, the criteria for funding social services were set; these will be included in the Law on Local Government Finance, while the indicators of the formula for the Specific Grant for Social Services will be detailed in an administrative instruction based on the minimum standards for social services.
The Specific Grant for Social Services serves to fund the cost of providing social services at the municipal level based on minimum standards. The funding criteria are intended to address the problems in current funding and the new policies in this field.
This activity continues the engagement in the process of drafting the Draft Law on Local Government Finance, extending to the specific issues addressed in this process.
This activity was carried out within the project ‘Support for Stronger and More Sustainable Municipalities (SSSM)’, funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
