The latest Coordination Meeting of the Civic Engagement Programme brought out very valuable ideas and assessments on the Monitoring Methodology for Public Consultations at Local Level, drafted by the Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) within the framework of the Civic Engagement Programme.

The Methodology for Monitoring Public Consultations at Local Level aims to increase citizens’ proactive approach to taking part in municipal consultation processes and, at the same time, to help municipalities identify shortcomings in their public consultation processes.

Participants in the meeting, key actors from civil society organisations and various local and international programmes working in the field of citizen participation, transparency and accountability at local level, welcomed the Civic Engagement Programme’s initiative to encourage citizen involvement and contributed comments and suggestions to enrich the draft of this methodology.

The Coordination Meetings of the Civic Engagement Programme are a multi-stakeholder consultative mechanism led by KCSF to support the contextual relevance of the programme through discussion and exchange of information, in order to identify space for cooperation and/or programme synergies in the field of civic engagement. Depending on the topics of discussion, these meetings will include KCSF, USAID, other donors in Kosovo that support civil society, private sector actors, the media, the diaspora and members of civil society.
