The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) and the OSCE, in support of the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA), have launched a series of trainings with the regions of Kosovo’s municipalities to discuss the topic “Initiatives for Inter-Municipal Cooperation”.

The first meeting was held with representatives of municipalities from the Prizren region and aimed to discuss and examine the opportunities that inter-municipal cooperation offers municipalities in achieving common goals and interests in exercising their own competences deriving from the Law on Local Self-Government.

The meeting highlighted that municipalities enter into cooperation with other municipalities in support of faster local economic development and more efficient and effective delivery of services to citizens and various interest groups. Such meetings will continue with municipalities from other regions of Kosovo.

The activity was carried out within the framework of the programme ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities’ (DEM), supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
