The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) held the first meeting of the “Local Policy Dialogue Forum” platform to discuss the challenges facing governance at the local level. Participants were professionals who over the years have contributed directly to the field of local governance through decision-making positions in institutions, from the perspective of analysis and academia, through work in international and local organisations, and as specialists.

This platform aims to create a space for discussion, exchange and the sharing of perspectives on processes, reforms, models and trends in the field of local governance. At the same time, current relevant actors and those who have contributed over the years share views and experiences on processes, drawing on previous experience as well as on current processes that are under way or being planned.
The ideas and proposals articulated by this forum can be incorporated into public policies in support of sustainable development at the local level. Above all, they are meant to serve greater cohesion and to strengthen the state’s institutional memory on local governance policies.
The KLGI Institute is dedicated to analyses and studies that contribute to effective local governance practices in Kosovo. Through its educational programmes, it also works to build the capacities of the country’s municipalities.
The activity was carried out within the framework of the “Dialogue for European Municipalities (DEM)” programme, supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
