On Wednesday the KLGI Institute organised a workshop on “Building the capacities of project/planning offices in writing and managing projects; the coordination component with the private sector and attracting development funds”.
The participants in this workshop were municipal performance measurement officers, who learned about the concepts, phases and methods of writing project proposals and implementing them successfully. The workshop will also serve as a means of facilitating professional development in writing innovative projects in line with needs and requirements.
The integrated planning system was also in focus, with the aim of avoiding the fragmentation of policies and budgets; it must go through several phases: conception, initiation and planning, execution, closure and use.
The lecturer at this workshop was Mr Fatmir Haxholli, a strategic planning expert, who highlighted the key elements of the proper functioning of an institution, such as understanding its mission, its general environment (economic, political, technical and socio-economic factors) and the structural and organisational side of the institution.
For his part, Mr Besnik Muçaj, Programme Manager at the KLGI Institute, considered familiarity with new practices in writing and managing projects to be very necessary. He emphasised that, in addition to helping municipalities with strategic planning, these practices will at the same time give them easier access to development funds.
This training was organised within the framework of the project “Strengthening capacities for functional sectors”, which is funded by the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA) and focuses on building the capacities of municipal offices in capacity building, strengthening public-private partnership and attracting development funds.
