The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) organised a virtual workshop on the topic “Local Governance in the Progress Report”. Participants in this training session were representatives of municipal offices for European integration and performance coordinators.
The meeting discussed the challenges and achievements at local level identified in the Progress Report, as well as the competences and responsibilities that municipalities have in this process. In this respect, municipalities are key actors in Kosovo’s process of integration into the European Union (EU).
Alongside further efforts to increase the capacities of local government, the Progress Report serves institutions, public actors, civil society and the media as a reference point for the challenges of local governance. Above all, it serves as an instrument for adapting strategies and areas of intervention in support of the common agenda towards European reforms.
The Progress Report serves as a reference point for the institutions of the European Union in assessing the progress of the state of Kosovo on its path to the EU.
The KLGI Institute is dedicated to analyses and studies that contribute to effective local governance practices in Kosovo. Through its educational programmes, KLGI also works on building the capacities of the country’s municipalities.
This activity was carried out within the framework of the platform “The Kosovo We Want”, with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung – FES.
