Only 22.7% of municipal assembly members are under the age of 30

The KLGI Institute’s research “Overview of the Composition of Municipal Assemblies” sets out the composition and structure of the Municipal Assemblies in the municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo for the 2021–2025 mandate.

The analysis covers two key dimensions: it examines the political and institutional environment and the functioning of the Municipal Assemblies; and it analyses aspects within and between the two mandates, 2017–2021, reflecting changes in age and re-election as well as the gender dimension.

The municipalities with the highest percentage of members under the age of 30 are:

Municipality of Junik – 53.33%
Municipality of Skenderaj – 38.71%
Municipality of Deçan – 37.04%.
