The Institute's support for advancing the sustainable funding of municipalities continues

The KLGI Institute, within the framework of its cooperation with and support for the Ministry of Finance, organised a three (3)-day workshop on drafting the Draft Law on Local Government Finance.

The working group, led by the Ministry of Finance, together with line ministries (MLGA; MEST; MoH), representatives of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities and the DEMOS project, analysed the options from the concept document and the comments from the consultation process in order to set them down in the Draft Law.

This process will continue with finalisation meetings of the working group, stakeholder consultations on the Draft Law and the public consultation process. The KLGI Institute and its partners will work to make the process as inclusive and consultative as possible.

In this context, the KLGI Institute is continuing its specific training programme for the departments related to local government finance, and the discussions on the accompanying regulations in this field.
