As part of the project “An effort towards sustainable and functional local governance”, representatives of the KLGI Institute, led by Executive Director Mr Besnik Tahiri, met the Mayor of Viti, Mr Sokol Haliti, and the Mayor of Hani i Elezit, Mr Rufki Suma, informing them about the programme and discussing the areas of intervention aimed at increasing the efficiency, quality of services and performance of municipalities.
At the same time, the representatives of the KLGI Institute had the opportunity to learn about the current developments and concrete needs of the municipalities, fully aligning them with the programme’s areas of intervention. On this occasion, the mayors were also given the bulletin “Mujori i Komunave”, which covers events and activities taking place in and around Kosovo’s Municipalities, a product of the INFOKOMUNA information portal and the KLGI Institute.
Furthermore, Mr Haliti and Mr Suma were informed about the first phase of the engagement of the KLGI Institute and the INFOKOMUNA portal, which concerns drafting a guide for standardisation and effective communication with the aim of raising the professional and coordination capacities of public relations offices, based on regional practice and international trends in communication, transparency and accountability.
Both sides expressed their full readiness to cooperate within the framework of their commitments and mutual support towards strengthening the local level. The project “An effort towards sustainable and functional local governance”, besides serving as an instrument of intervention through training, also enables full engagement in the field, closer to municipalities and citizens.
