In a focused discussion, the KLGI Institute team discussed the planned phases of the projects it implements, monitoring reports and financial statement reports. It was noted that the KLGI Institute has advanced its model of internal governance and financial management and aims to make further progress in these areas.

An analysis of programmes and projects was also carried out, following their management cycle. Beyond this, it was assessed that KLGI has not only increased the results and impact of its programmes, but has also expanded its partnerships and taken on new responsibilities in supporting actors in its field of work.

The launch of a new phase of strategic review and planning based on the 2018–2021 Work Strategy was also discussed. The main aims for the new phase remain supporting municipalities in democratisation and inter-institutional dialogue, supporting the institutional reform agenda and the European Integration agenda at local government level, and providing platforms and advanced educational training for capacity building. Additional focus will be placed on including young people, women and marginalised groups in shaping sustainable local policies.

Finally, valuing the support and contribution of stakeholders, KLGI will ensure continuous improvement of communication and accountability towards donors and beneficiaries.
