The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) organised a workshop on the “Draft Administrative Instruction on the Organisation, Functioning and Cooperation of Municipalities with Villages, Settlements and Urban Neighbourhoods”.
The workshop brought together representatives of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Municipal Assemblies and members of civil society to discuss and make concrete proposals for finalising this Draft Administrative Instruction.
This Administrative Instruction aims to regulate the organisation, functioning and cooperation of the municipality with villages, settlements and urban neighbourhoods in carrying out activities that fall within the responsibility and competence of the municipality.
Above all, local councils, as bodies supporting the municipality's organs, will contribute to inclusive consultations that promote and develop transparency, accountability and citizen participation in decision-making processes.
Strengthening these mechanisms helps citizens from villages, settlements and urban neighbourhoods to be represented transparently and to have their voice heard in municipal decision-making. They are thus a bridge that represents, in an organised manner, the interests of each community.
This activity was carried out within the project ‘Support for Stronger and More Sustainable Municipalities (SSSM)’, funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
