At the lake beach in Orllan, at the invitation of the Blue Youth Centre, the Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Besnik Muçaj, gave a presentation at the youth camp.
Among the young people, Muçaj presented the need to strengthen local democracy through participation in decision-making. Among other things, he stressed the need to strengthen the concept of focused, agenda-driven debates between institutions and actors, in this case young people.
During the presentation, emphasis was also placed on the necessity of moving from capital investment in infrastructure to sustainable human development.
The discussion raised the need for more sustainable policies that include young people in decision-making. Meanwhile, Muçaj placed particular focus on the necessity for youth institutions to become professional mechanisms of non-formal education. He addressed the need to increase the engagement of young people in democratisation, with attention to marginalised groups.
Finally, Muçaj expressed the readiness of the KLGI Institute to meet the need to involve students in its programmes and work as an opportunity to strengthen the practical component during their studies.
