The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) organised another workshop on the topic “Digitalisation and innovation practices at local level”. Participants in the workshop were Directors of Public Administration from Kosovo’s municipalities.
The workshop discussed the importance of open data in local governance for evidence-based policy-making, as well as the main problems that citizens and municipal officials encounter in their municipality.
Through open data we can develop a digital solution that represents the interests and needs of all citizens, exchanging ideas to plan solutions to the challenges of governance and democratisation in Kosovo’s municipalities.
Digital transformation and innovation are the main factors affecting the improvement and functioning of public administration. Above all, the ability to access local government data and information gives citizens greater knowledge of the municipality’s activities and of the distribution of services and the budget. This process helps increase transparency and accountability in local governance.
The KLGI Institute is dedicated to analyses and studies that contribute to effective local governance practices in Kosovo. At the same time, through its educational programmes, it works on building the capacities of the country’s municipalities.
The activity was carried out within the framework of the programme ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities’ (DEM), supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
