The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI), in support of the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD), held a workshop on redesigning the grant scheme for municipalities, businesses and civil society within the regional development programme.
The workshop aimed to discuss grant schemes for municipalities, NGOs and start-up businesses, with a view to advancing balanced regional socio-economic development. Above all, proposals were made to advance processes towards creating better conditions for businesses, better infrastructure in municipalities for economic development, and the promotion of socio-economic development in cooperation with civil society.
During the workshop it was stressed that, as a first step, the promotion of balanced regional socio-economic development should focus on encouraging and advancing dialogue between the MRD, local institutions, civil society and businesses.
This enables municipalities to advance their leading role in improving socio-economic development through projects that contribute to the priorities listed in their regional/local development strategies.
The KLGI Institute serves as a platform for more structured communication in capacity building and the drafting of policies and legislation.
This activity was carried out within the project ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities (DEM)’, funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
