The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI), in support of the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA), organised a workshop to discuss the “Plan for implementing the Local Economic Development Strategy”.
The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the review of the action plan and the monitoring of the Local Economic Development Strategy 2022-2023. This document addresses aspects of local economic development oriented towards partnership with all stakeholders, with the aim of increasing employment, reducing poverty and raising the quality of life.
Economic development can only be achieved when municipalities demonstrate good governance and provide the services citizens need by improving and advancing local self-government. Above all, municipalities must make continuous efforts not to remain heavily dependent on revenue from the central level, but to increase the collection of own-source revenues.
This activity was carried out within the framework of the programme ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities (DEM)’, supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
