Draft Law on Regional Development presented

The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI), in support of the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD), organised another workshop on the process of drafting the Draft Law on Regional Development.

The workshop aimed to discuss and present the draft of the Draft Law on Regional Development and to incorporate comments into the completion of this document.

Above all, this law sets the long-term priorities of regional development policy and enables the coordination of other sectoral policies for balanced regional socio-economic development in Kosovo.

The meeting highlighted the importance of this law for eliminating the challenges, problems and setbacks in the field of regional development, which are to be addressed in the document with the aim of approximating the EU’s regional development policies.

The KLGI Institute will support the Ministry of Regional Development in drafting legislation through the programme “Dialogue for European Municipalities – DEM”, funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
