The KLGI Institute continues to support thematic groups in the project “Civil Society as a Promoter of Public Contribution”, supported by SMART Balkans.
Cooperation with local organisations and social activists in the Municipality of Vushtrri has involved diverse groups of citizens, such as members of the focus group, professionals and people engaged in municipal structures. The thematic group has identified needs and, with professional support, has analysed important issues, linking them to the relevant legislation and strategies.
After drafting the concepts, they are now, with professional support, building an advocacy map covering municipal mechanisms, policies, regulations and municipal funding. The working methodology aims to strengthen the partnership between local organisations and social activists and the local community, broadening citizen participation in groups that have an influence on local policies and decision-making processes.
This meeting was organised with the support of the regional project “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Values in the Western Balkans”, led by Centar za Promociju Civilnog Društva (CPCD) in partnership with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), and funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA).
