The KLGI Institute🏠 continues to support thematic groups in the project “Civil Society as a Promoter of Public Contribution”, supported by SMART Balkans. Through the thematic groups, local organisations and social activists in the Municipality of Lipjan🏛 have been ensured full inclusion, with the participation of directly affected citizens, professionals and contributors in this field.

The thematic groups👥have collected data from statistics and reports in various areas such as gender equality, persons with disabilities and minority communities. The issues identified have gone through a process of analysis, in which the data obtained, with professional support, has been cross-referenced with legislation⚖️, strategies, policies and municipal funding.📊

🧾At this stage, before advocacy, the issues and needs relating to municipal policies and funding have been mapped out. Following discussions with the thematic groups, the indicative cases are encouraging for the engagement of the thematic group members, as well as for the examples of addressing and advancing municipal policies.

In the monitoring process🔎, the results achieved will be assessed and promoted as models of engagement. Thanks to the practices built in the targeted municipalities, there is greater readiness for the co-creation of policies between municipalities and representative groups.

🤝This meeting was organised with the support of the regional project “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Values in the Western Balkans”, led by Centar za Promociju Civilnog Društva (CPCD) in partnership with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), and funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA).
