The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) and the OSCE, in support of the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA), continued with the next training to discuss the topic “Initiatives for Inter-Municipal Cooperation”.
The third training was held with the municipalities of the Peja region and covered the opportunities, forms and procedures of inter-municipal cooperation. Participants had the opportunity to discuss the legal basis and to see good models from the region and from developed countries.
Inter-municipal cooperation means the right of municipalities to cooperate and form partnerships to carry out functions of common interest. During the training, officials from the municipalities of the Peja region also discussed their needs and potential for implementing joint projects with the aim of providing services to citizens and advancing local economic development.
The activity is being carried out within the framework of the programme ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities’ (DEM), supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
