The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI), within the Social Engagement Programme (SEP), organised a study visit to TUMO Tirana (the former Pyramid) in the Republic of Albania. The coordinators of thematic groups from eight municipalities were welcomed by the Director of Youth Policies at the Municipality of Tirana, Iva Beharaj.
The aim of the visit was to become closely acquainted with the practices and processes being developed at the Directorate of Youth Policies in the Municipality of Tirana and to see the transformation of the former Pyramid into an innovation centre. The revitalisation of the Pyramid into an innovation centre, with facilities for various cultural activities and spaces for young people’s businesses, has become a major tourist attraction for foreign visitors.
During the meeting, the group of coordinators was informed about advanced regional models in the co-creation of public policies in the field of local governance, as well as about adapting them in order to provide the best possible services to citizens.
This activity is implemented with the support of the regional project “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Values in the Western Balkans”, implemented by Centar za Promociju Civilnog Društva (CPCD) in partnership with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), and financially supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA).
