Through its cooperation agreement with the Al-Hayat Center, the KLGI Institute has launched the Local Governance Academy (LGA) programme in Jordan, on which occasion the curriculum and impact of the LGA programme in the field of local governance were presented.
The extension of the programme to Jordan aims to advance municipal officials, strengthen local communities, foster cooperation and improve the quality of services in Jordan. Through this programme, therefore, KLGI and Al-Hayat aim to address advanced local governance policies and practices, while also building professional networks with local actors.
The LGA is a programme of the KLGI Institute which now, through partners, is expanding beyond Jordan into the region (the Western Balkans) and further afield. The LGA is an advanced training programme that targets local government officials, line ministries and civil society actors.
Its delivery involves academic figures, local governance specialists and local governance actors. The training includes lectures, training sessions, exchanges of experience, workshops and discussions in the interest of local actors – as the largest network of local government members.
