The training of social auditors has concluded, and the phase of examining projects from the citizens’ perspective is now beginning

With the group of social auditors in the Municipality of Peja, the cycle of trainings in the nine (9) municipalities was completed according to the training calendar (South Mitrovica, Shtërpca, Obiliq, Gjilan, Lipjan, Graçanica, Rahovec, Dragash and Peja), where eighteen (18) projects have been selected for examination.

During this phase, one hundred and fifty (150) people have been involved in the social audit process: citizens of various occupations and professions, reflecting social diversity – women, men, young people, older people, students, members of ethnic communities, people from towns and villages, as well as representatives of marginalised groups.

In each of the nine (9) municipalities, the trainings highlighted the interest of citizens and interest groups (users) in ensuring that capital investments are as efficient and accessible in use as possible, as well as sustainable. The examples of engagement were encouraging, and these will now be structured into social audit groups.

Following the successful completion of this phase, the social auditor groups have set their work calendar to begin analysing the data (contracts, reports, information gathering, as well as principles and standards) on investments in the respective fields, and to document their findings, including good examples and shortcomings.

The Social Audit, which is being carried out by the KLGI Institute, is supported by the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA).
