Visit to learn first-hand about good practices in developing transformative policies

Within the training programme “Local Governance Academy – LGA” 🌍, a delegation of officials from Kosovo municipalities 🇽🇰, led by the Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Valmir Gashi, visited the Municipality of Tirana 🇦🇱, where they were received by the Deputy Mayor, Anuela Ristani. The aim of the visit was to learn first-hand about good practices in developing transformative policies 🌱 in the Municipality of Tirana.

Deputy Mayor Ristani informed the delegation about the projects being implemented in Tirana to improve infrastructure 🚧 and public services 🏙, as well as to support local communities 🤗. She stressed that the engagement of citizens 👥 in decision-making processes has contributed to the creation of more effective and sustainable policies. Ristani underlined the importance of cooperation 🤝 between local institutions and of exchanging experiences with other countries, creating opportunities for joint solutions to challenges.

An essential aspect of the discussion was the focus on innovation 💡 as a means of improving services. Ristani explained that the use of digital technologies 📱 has simplified administrative processes and increased transparency 🔍. She encouraged the creation of platforms inviting citizens to contribute ideas and suggestions, so that the community’s needs can be better identified. The focus on innovation has given Tirana a competitive advantage 🏆, encouraging a new working culture, which is also a good example for Kosovo’s municipalities.
