Viti was the closing meeting of the visit to municipalities by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Kosovo, Jens Erik Grondahl, and the Executive Director of the Kosovo Local Government Institute, Mr Valmir Gashi, to see and learn first-hand about developments at local level.
The Mayor of Viti, Sokol Haliti, briefed them on the challenges and ongoing work in the municipality, as well as on various projects and development directions in the local economy through cooperation with the private sector. He also mentioned the municipality’s considerable potential for economic development, agriculture and tourism.
They also discussed areas of intervention aimed at increasing efficiency, the quality of services and the performance of municipalities.
Thanking the Ambassador for the Norwegian Embassy’s support for municipalities, Mayor Haliti expressed full readiness to cooperate with the KLGI Institute within the framework of commitments and support towards strengthening the local level.
