Policies are needed to support the integration of young people in various spheres

The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) organised a workshop on the topic “Youth challenges at the local level”. The workshop aimed to analyse/address the problems and challenges that young people are facing at local level, as well as their advancement in various fields.

During the discussion, the young participants considered that transparency and accountability at local level should be strengthened further, so that young people can more easily access opportunities to develop their activities and advance professionally.

At the same time, there should be more training, employment and policies that support the empowerment and opening of businesses and the funding of innovative ideas and “start-up” programmes by young people. In this respect, the young people considered that the local level should draw up action plans with objectives, placing emphasis on the integration of young people in various spheres of social, economic and political life.

The activity was carried out within the framework of the programme ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities (DEM)’, supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo.
