The Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Mr Besnik Tahiri, lectured at a two-day training session organised by Helvetas and implemented by KDI. The session aimed to strengthen the role of women in local policy-making.
The training focused on women who are part of municipal and political structures and those actively engaged in public affairs. As such, the programme addressed topics that essentially highlight the need for intervention and for improving women’s participation at local level.
The training methodology was developed by experts in local governance and gender equality, based on advanced practices and consistent with developments and the context at local level.
Essentially, the workshop aimed to increase the capacities of women at local level, starting with clarifying political concepts, strengthening leadership and political communication capacities, and improving public presentation and advocacy.
The training will continue with other groups from the regions of Kosovo.
