At the KLGI Institute’s premises, the Executive Director, Mr Besnik Tahiri, received representatives of the European Union from the political section/economic team, Mr Miran Vatovec and Mr Edon Kalludra.
The discussion focused on regional development, and in this context the opportunities offered by the legal framework for inter-municipal cooperation were also addressed. In this regard, advancing cooperation practices and strengthening the coordination and support component from the central level and donors would significantly increase opportunities for sustainable development.
Therefore, addressing sustainable and cohesive development through the law on regional development will have a positive impact in tackling the challenges affecting municipalities. An integrated approach to planning and development would significantly reduce the fragmentation of policies and finances.
